She was born in Greenwood, BC, in 1900.

The Keefers moved to Savary when Harry took a temporary position as Savary's Assistant Postmaster.

He was supposed to be temporarily substituting for R.S. Sherman, who'd been hired for the job but wasn't able to start immediately. In the end, Keefer became the permanent Postmaster and held the job for the next 49 years. Harry died at Savary Island on July 15, 1964. He was 90.
