Answer: the Muslim Brotherhood

Islamist enemies led the first leader of communist Afghanistan, Nur Mohammad Taraki, to refer to the opposition as ikhwan i shayatin, the satanic brotherhood, which was a play on Muslim Brotherhood, founded in 1928 by Hasan al-Banna, a 22-year-old elementary school teacher, as an Islamic revivalist movement.
