Answer: lollypop

The name popsicle was coined as a trademark in 1923 by Frank Epperson of Oakland, California. He coined it by contracting the phrase lollypop icicle.

The OED's first citation for the term is from its 1923 patent application: "Trade-mark ‘Popsicle’. Particular description of goods. — Lollypops. Claims use since May 28, 1923."(Source: U.S. Patent Office Official Gazette, 25 Sept. 1923)

And in Britain they used the other syllables... in Britain, a Popsicle is called an Ice Lolly.
